The married couple who operate the largest reloading vending station at certain gun shows each call the projectiles "heads". Onliest ones I've heard call them that who are actually in the business. I suspect it may be a private joke between them.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Shells are what you use in shotguns (shotgun shells) and what you shoot in the large Army and Navy cannons (artillery shells).

But you definitely don't shoot rifle shells or pistol shells.

I use the word "projectile" alot. I own a bullet casting company. When I say bullet people think loaded ammunition.
www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

oh PLEASE tell me you've heard that.
Making me think , they are just doing it to drive me nuts.
It seems to be hip word with the young AR crowd.
I've even heard them use in in regards to handguns.
It's often the same crowd looking to reduce the "impulse" of their full size 9mm handgun???
Once on the net , I seen a fella looking to tame the impulse of his 30-30.
Many younger folks seem to be what I'd call overly recoil sensitive than days of the past.
I've witnessed the same group type gawking at what seemed to them to be an ""enormously large"" 30-06 round.
I think they figured it was fired from the decks of a battleship or something.......
Or maybe I am just a big insensitive meany ... I dunno..............I am getting old.

Great idea. I've tried selling bullets only to find out someone thought they were getting loaded ammo ............... more than once.
As if the price even remotely suggested ammo.
I will steal this way of doing things.
