Re: Shooting down drones over private property
It’s ironic to me that people who say they are responsible gun owners want to use said guns to shoot down drones because they believe all drone operators are irresponsible.

Re: Shooting down drones over private property
Was talking to a friend of mine about the drone issue. Oddly enough he was thinking about it before I brought up. He was thinking about using an SDR to make a drone detector. I started looking into it, and it seems that a lot of the video transmitters are using 5.8ghz, whereas the controls are via 2.4ghz. I'm not sure if the SDR he's working with will go up to 5.8ghz, but if it does, he should be able to detect and intercept the video stream.
While researching that, I found this: https://www.banggood.com/RX5808-5_8G...r_warehouse=CN
That could be used to also intercept drone video streams.Rules are written in the stone,

Why sure, but what if you don't want to carry your PC to the park with you? Well, there's something for that: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3645387

Re: Shooting down drones over private property
This all brings up the question if these would pick up security cameras and/or doorbells?

Re: Shooting down drones over private property
If they're using the 5.8ghz range, probably. I had a back up camera in one of the cars a few years ago that used the 2.4ghz band (not wifi) and it would regularly pick up surveillance camera, baby monitors and on the odd occasion someone else's back up camera. That was rather disconcerting.
