Default Colt Python prices at gun shows?

I have decided it’s time to add a Python to my collection. I’m not trying to re-open the debate as to whether or not they’re worth their current market price, just wondering what they’re going for at the shows. Did anyone notice if they’re even readily available at shows? I’ve been cruising through the online forums and have my on a couple but for the kind of money they are bringing in I would rather handle it in person. Thanks in advance for any help on the subject, Brian

Can't say much about the specifics of pythons, but experience has shown that going to a gunshow looking for something is a poor way to acquire it.

Given the nature of the market for them right now I suspect typical gunshow pricing to be at "It only takes one dumbass" levels.

I know of one for sale.
    If I remember rightly it's a 1977 gun.
Typical blue wear on the corners but mechanically excellent.
I think it was in the 2 grand range.

Usually true. There's generally a very limited number at most gun shows and they will ask a premium for them. That's true almost everywhere with the python now though. If you really want one, be prepared to pay stupid money to get it.

I was picking up my S&W 610 at Claytons 4 days ago and noticed their couple of very nice Pythons. I didn't handle them but they looked new. If I had the free cash and no bills and the job didn't look like it's closing, I would have bought one. You should check them out even if you don't buy them to get a feel for the deep end of the pool.

More importantly check listings on gun broker that actually sold and then average out their prices and that’s what the market currently demands.

I see Pythons on Pennswoods .......... somewhat often.
I just looked and there is one there now.
Granted the guy is in New York but.....
I am not advocating this particular gun.
