    Default wrong bore brush?

I was cleaning a SIG P220 (.45 auto). This barrel is chrome lined. I grabbed a copper bore brush, sprayed it with Ballistol, and sent it down the bore twice. Only after did I notice it was marked "410 bore". Since 410 is smaller than .455, Am I correct to assume that this did not do any damage to the bore?

    thanks.

Can you even damage a bore with a brush?

I would say yes to no damage, it takes a lot of effort to damage a bore, especially one that is chromed.

It is close to impossible to ruin a barrel with the brass brush. But you can ruin a barrel with the rod. It is best to use a coated rod and never have the rod touch the bore. And use some kind of bore guide when cleaning rifles.

Also If you use a bare aluminum rod throw it away or give it to your worst enemy. The soft aluminum picks up all kind of grit turning it into sandpaper.

You didn't damage it (but you likely didn't clean it very well).
Damage to the bore can occur with a tight fitting brush that is reversed in the bore before exiting- the bristles get pushed into the steel when backing over the cam point.
Stainless steel brushes are the worst, they can scratch the shit out of the bore.
