    Default Suppressor Cleaning

Installed my first suppressor today, the Sig SRD762-QD

    https://www.sigsauer.com/store/srd762-qd.html

Any tips for cleaning this thing? Does it need cleaned at all?

    Thanks!

If shooting "high power" jacketed ammo you can probably get away with not cleaning or just put some solvent in it and roll it around. My 22lr can (all titanium) I just put I. My ultrasonic cleaner for 2 cycles

I have a Kestral for my 22-LR. I don't clean it after every shooting, but I get to it when my brain says...."it's time".

Like USMC I toss the baffles in my sonic cleaner and two cycles will usually get the job done. 22LR ammo is "dirty" to shoot compared to center fire ammo.

for the price and brand, it doesn't come with maintinence instructions?

aside from ruining the finish, if it has one, i'd throw it in a cleaner bought in bulk like homemade and soak it, shake the fluid out and blast it with compressed air.
thats how i'd clean something that shape.

Most rifle suppressors are not very serviceable, and people say the high pressure of the round will keep it clean.

My Obsidian is serviceable. I'll clean it maybe twice a year. Baffles, pistons, and springs go in the Ultrasonic cleaner with a Purple power and water mixture per Rugged's instruction. Tube and caps gets cleaned with Hoppes and a toothbrush (they are coated aluminum).

My Mk23 suppressor is sealed. The piston goes into the Ultrasonic cleaner, but the tube just gets the piston area cleaned with a toothbrush and Hoppes.

Use the Ultrasonic cleaner with caution, especially if you do a coated tube. I've heard some stories of Ultrasonic cleaners removing the coating on suppressor tubes.
