    Raxar, That is it! Italian Carcano made for the Japanese military. With the one I have missing the safety lever and the bottom metal not a standard Carcano type I did not recognize it. I should be able to get a Carcano bolt and repair this action. Thank you.

    Carcano bolt parts might work, but you're going to have to stick with that bolt body as any of the ones you find aren't going to be set up for 6.5 jap's case head.

    I tried a couple of different rounds on the bolt face. 35 Rem. fits. Might re-barrel it and make a usable gun on the action. 35 Rem bolt action rifle. That would be something different.
