    Default Lancaster farm tour

I’m thinking of doing a Lancaster farm tour with the family sometime this summer. There’s a cheese store in Gap I’d want to visit and probably some other places. Any recommendations of places to stop?

What is it like at the Lapp Dairy farm? How many bulldogs do they have?

If you're gonna be in the Gap area, check out the Country Knife Store down on 340 after you get done with Intercourse.

Second +++ for Country Knives, they have consumed much of my discretionary fun money, Awesome store, largest collection of knives I've seen, especially the professional culinary section. September farms In Honey Brook is a nice Cheese stop and sandwich/ice cream/tourist trap. Strasburg rail road and the PA train Museum is good also.

If you have the time and $$ Smoketown Airport gives some great Airplane and Helicopter aerial tours of the County farmlands

and off course there is Shady Maple Smorgasbord, I live just a few miles away and have only been there two or three times, I just cant do the excessive gluttony thing any more

This will be the 2nd or 3rd summer that Country Knives is in my to do list.

I’ll have to pass on Shady Maple. I’ve never been there but eating for eatings sake is not for me. I think we’ve done Strasbourg railroad. I’ll add September farm to the list. Thank you.

Definitely the railroad. Be sure to go in the museum, not just the ride.

Maybe a little touristy, but Landis Valley Museum is popular.

You can always just drive down Route 30 and find all kinds of stops too.

Landis Valley Museum on the east of Lancaster city is a very nice museum of Lancaster (german) history and farming.

The Ephrata Cloister has tours, it's really a fantastic place to visit even if you are not religious.
