New PA LTCF Holder - Vehicle Questions

Hi all, as my first post, I intend to beat a probably dead horse again.
I have done some research, but I can not find the answer I'm looking for, in a straight forward response.

I have my LTCF in PA. I travel quite a lot into Ohio, and West Virginia.

When in the car, I like to dock my pistol, either under steering wheel, in between seat and center console.

I am looking to an answer in regard to legality of doing so.

I'm under the impression that since I have my LTCF, and I am in a vehicle, even being docked not on body, it is still considered concealed in my vehicle.
Hence, since I have my LTCF, this should be legal?

Openly or concealed does NOT matter to vehicles, nor does its loaded or unloaded status, only the fact that there is a "firearm"(handgun, SBS, SBR) in, on, or upon a vehicle. Any device that is used to transport people is a vehicle. Yes, that includes horses, bicycles, motorcycles, boats, trains, airplanes, cars, trucks, trolleys, etc, etc. YOU NEED A LICENSE TO TRANSPORT A HANDGUN IN, ON, OR UPON A VEHICLE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO/FROM ONE OF THE EXEMPTED LOCATIONS IN 18.61.6106.(B). ************* Without a license you cannot transport an unloaded "firearm" in a vehicle just for the mere practice of open carry.

A loaded firearm (handgun) anywhere in the vehicle requires the person to have a LTCF.

A firearm in a vehicle is not "concealed". A loaded firearm requires the person to have the LTCF. An unloaded firearm, which can be transported for several reasons does not require a LTCF nor is it considered "concealed".

So essentially as long as you have a LTCF, you can legally carry loaded anywhere in your vehicle.

If you travel to other states with a gun you must review a 2A travel guide so that you don't accidentally get yourself arrested.
The duty to inform upon first official contact comes to mind as a way to get yourself in trouble very easily.
Some states also have odd laws when it comes to cars, like Delaware for example.

Personally I like this publication, but there are others out there.
The download costs $15 and it is worth every penny.

I'm gonna go ahead and make that purchase. New to the North and have read multiple state differences. Down south it is pretty straight forward.
15 bucks is cheaper than a lawyer!

Although my travel mainly consists of PA,WV,OH it will be a good read for vacations.

The northeast block of states is not a good place to let your guard down when it comes to gun laws.

As far as notifying the officer, especially in Ohio..
I have made it a habit to notify them no matter what. It seems to be the best practice. I would hate to lean over and uncover a concealed weapon in front of an unsuspecting officer. Not sure if this is a good habit, or not. I just don't feel like being shot. My run in's with LEO is slim to none, so I am not highly experienced with this.
