I find it alarming that many shooters don’t think it’s important enough to have their lead levels checked periodically - the damage from lead to the organs can be life changing - a simple blood test ! Yet many think it’s overkill

I know people working at the Crown battery manufacturing plant in Ohio.

Their blood is tested regularly, and they even have to shower (no kidding) before they leave work.

I had a guy with Prius say that he had nickle cadmium poisoning, and we had to fix it.

Over tbe the years, I have worked on a few cars who's owners were certifiably insane.

Lead isn't quite the toxic hazard that it's made out to be. Unless you're inhaling large quantities of dust, or fumes from melting it, it's not really that dangerous.

I think as long you're not munching on old paint chips like Pringles, or using fishing weights for suppositories, you'll probably be ok.

During my time as a firearms instructor at my PD I had my lead level tested along with hearing tests.
My wife taught firearms classes at a private range in WA, they also asked & paid for her to have her lead levels tested and hearing tests done.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

DEKA battery plant is close enough here that I have met several people who work(ed) there over the years. They all get tested on a regular basis and rotated around the plant in and out of the high lead areas. I'm sure it's not good for adults but I
always thought that most of its affects were developmental.

Might want to google effects of lead poisoning ..... children are at highest risk but by no means the only ones at risk and the damage it can do to ones body including adults is frightening.

Just owning a Prius should precipitate a Red Flag Law search and seizure.
