Default What is your favorite length for an AR15 handguard and why?

If you had to pick between these 4 lengths, which one would you go with and why?

I'd have to know how long the barrel was first...

Pretend that someone offered you a free handguard, regardless of whether or not you own an AR.

i picked 10" because it would work on most barrels and would give room for options.
but i like a 15" guard on a 7" barrel because i can and won't be told how to freedom.

On a 7 inch barrel with a flash can or blast forwarder I like a 10" handguard

If I didn’t have a use for it I’d turn it down.

I’m a traditional kind of guy. 10 inch hand guard on a 16 inch barrel.

That's ridiculous, but the irony that you would give an example that includes getting something for free is pretty funny.

Carbine length, slim; not the ginormous M4 type.

I have a 16 in barrel so I chose 15 inch. I want the hand guard as long as possible so I can grip the gun as close to the muzzle as possible to control muzzle rise. I use a thumb over the top grip on the front of the gun.
