Default GOA website - horribly done

Has anyone else found the GOA website to be a horrible user experience?

I've been making installment payments on a Life Membership. At the beginning, I would log in, then select a payment from their online store. It was listed just like any regular merchandise. Half the time, the payment did not appear in my 'Account Dashboard' and I've exchanged numerous emails trying to make sure all of my payments are going towards the membership, and not being considered a random donation. I finally did receive a statement which accurately showed all of my payments, but online, STILL, only 3 of 7 payments show up within my online account view.

Now it appears they've redone their website. Even when logged in, as I attempt to make a new installment, I'm being asked how I want to break up the payments - to total the full $500 - with no recognition of my previous payments or *actual* remaining balance.

It's frustrating to know that every quarter I will have to exchange a handful of emails in order to hand someone else a few of my hard earned dollars and have them properly accounted for in regards to being correctly identified and applied to my Life Membership. It's one of the worst 'customer experiences' I continually encounter in conducting business online.

I suppose I should just make a copy of my most recent (accurate) statement and send along with a check in the regular mail, and then request a new statement reflecting the new payment.

I don't necessarily mind if online options aren't always available, but if a company is going to go to the trouble of making that an option, it would be nice if it actually worked.

GOA is not the best when it comes to online presence and member account management.
I think they are too busy trying to save the Second Amendment.
Having said that, I did speak with them about it, but it is what it is.
They do great work defending the 2A and have my full support.

Mine too. I just wish I didn't have to work so hard to support them. Makes me wonder how many may have simply stopped rather than deal with the hassle.

I think they grew faster than they expected and are trying to catch up.

Could be, but these days, online account management is hardly emerging technology with few available solutions. There are any number of ready-made solutions that could be employed if they aren't ready to do something customized in-house.

From my perspective, their recent changes were actually a step backwards. What they had sucked, but the new sucks even more.

Yeah, I think they outsourced to try to fix things, maybe didn't get what they were expecting.
Give them a call, let them know what you think, couldn't hurt to give them some feedback.

I dunno, I supposedly got a membership courtesy of Berncly's work but I wouldn't know it if I didn't get an occasional email from them.

I'd be less concerned if I were doing an annual membership, but I'm doing installments towards a Life Membership, so I want to make sure that every time I make a payment, it get's deducted from the total.

If I knew how it would be, I would have just made 'payments' to myself, and sent a single payment when I could scrape together the full Life amount.

It took them a little longer then i thought to cash the check for my membership fee. If it is because they are growing immensely then I will take that as a very good thing.
