Everyone thought the gun industry was going to end with the proliferation of investment castings too. Castings were far too porous and brittle. Guns will explode on firing!
But guns like Weatherby and Ruger soon proved them all wrong. The highly prized Made in W Germany Weatherby's , and Colt Sauer's were made by JP Sauer & Sohn using investment cast receivers. And Ruger revolvers would handle loads that would scatter 'forged frame' revolvers to the four winds.
    I don't speak English , I talk American!

And all these years later you will still find people both old and new to the firearms world still believing and regurgitating the same old tired bull shit.

Can you imagine the resistance to the concept of a round earth?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I have a lot of respect for the Ruger castings, they are leaders in the industry. What you get from is strength at the price of bulk.
I appreciate S&W forgings for their appearance, they have a certain Victorian era grace that clunky Ruger castings will never duplicate.

I like Ruger No.1's too- In the appearance category they will never compete with late 19th century single shots.
That and Bill Ruger was a jerkoff.

I didn’t think I was that old but so be it, MIM will never be the same quality.

Nobody seems to give a shit about quality in 2019 so we’ll continue to buy shitty MIM guns, drive our shitty cars, fly in shitty planes, and live in shitty houses filled with shitty appliances. It’s ok though because if a washing machine lasted more than 5 years that would put some Chinese fucker out of a job and possibly hurt the profit margin of some shitty multi billion dollar company.

He said as he rocked haltingly in his chair at the Beaver County Retirement Home, ranting on about a world that no longer existed except for in his fond fading memories. j/k

Please explain why to me as it relates then the firearms world and the longevity or lack of with today's firearms and not about your plastic and sheet metal washer machine.
