Default Red Dot Mounting on Ruger Charger...issue?

Greetings. I am not especially familiar with mounting much of anything had had a general question on it. I run irons on my ARs because I just like them better.

Recently purchased a Ruger Charger because I've always liked the idea of them. They do not have irons of course. I am going to purchase a Bushnell TRS25 but in the meantime I put on a cheap red dot.

My question is, and I'm not sure if it matters, but the mounting side plate sits somewhat crooked when tightened. The red dot itself is straight and it appears to be mounted securely. The right "plate" which slides into the groove is just tilted "up". The claw appears to not be as secure as it could be. It seems this occurs when the mount is tightened. Since it is a .22 and only temporary, I'm not too concerned. Hopefully this makes sense, but I'd like to know if this is common?
