What’s the longest handgun barrel you have?

For me it was a Virginian Dragoon 357 with a 7.25 for years but recently it was beat due to my acquisition of a Smith 29-2 with 8 3/8 barrel. Funny how tastes change. A decade ago I was only interested in four inch or less revolvers. Now I seem to be of the longer the better mindset. I’m currently looking at a 29-3 with silhouette barrel (10 5/8”) and strongly considering starting the search for a Ruger Super Blackhawk with the 10.5” barrel.

This got me wondering what barrel lengths the forum members are using. I’m also hoping some of you have experience with the extra length handgun barrels and can share your thoughts.

The longest barrel I have is the one I was born with. The second longest is 5.5".

My ZENITH Z-5RS has an 8.9 and it shoots pretty good, my Ruger Blackhawk has a 6.5" but I can't give a report as I have yet to shoot it.

Everything else I have is smaller.

Had a 686 8-3/8 that I regret selling.

Have an AMT Lighting stainless .22 cal Target semi auto with an 11" tapered barrel. Circa 1980 maybe. Forget when I bought it, but somewhere back then.

I started with long and now it’s mostly short. 1st trooper 2. 8in then 29 8 3/8. Last was an naa 22short. Hard to conceal the long ones.

Ruger Hunter 6 7/8" Recently looked at a 7" S&W 357 revolver but it felt too barrel heavy.
