Re: Are pistol caliber carbines legally considered long guns?
Sure and that's their choice. However there isn't any risk. If you have no reason to believe someone is prohibited or that they aren't a resident of your state, you have complied fully with the law. If that person decides to use that firearm in a crime, that's on them - not you.
Many people are comfortable with that and do it all the time in the classifieds here. Of course talking only long guns in PA.

The only thing I buy with any regularity is reloading components, and at the moment I've got a year's supply.
I did just pick up an 80% lower last week, from a fellow Poofer, and some parts from Oaks a week and a half ago, none of which could ever have come from WalMart.

Re: Are pistol caliber carbines legally considered long guns?
Dicks has a similar policy - no ammo at all to under 21. Don't think it is for political reasons there tho - just simplicity cuz of legislation of ammunition
"NOTICE: Under Dick’s Sporting Goods policy, you must be 21 years old to purchase a long gun. Federal laws require purchaser to complete ATF Form 4473 and pass a background check. Some states and local laws may have further restrictions or require a permit or license to purchase a firearm."

Oh dear. Dick's anti-gun policies are well documented to be political. They are exiting all business related to firearms and most Second Amendment supporters have boycotted Dick's for multiple reasons. A quick Google search will bring you up to speed.
A blanket policy of not selling guns/ammo to those otherwise eligible under the law is anti-gun and very political.
