Default Decent scope for 10/22 @ 100 yards, around $200?

Title says it. Looking for a fixed magnification optic that would be adequate for plinking 22lr @ and under 100 yards. Trying to stay under $200 if possible, if not ok. Tell me what's out there. Thanks.

If fixed magnification is what your looking for and you like a BDC reticle then check this out. It generally get's good reviews.

If your interested in it you get also get it from Optics Planet for the same price but find a 5-10% off coupon and still get the free shipping.

Here is a 10% off that expires 4/3 at 12pm est. APRLFLS

I do like that, and I really like the price. I'm afraid it might be to busy for my 13 yr old though. He is sometimes easily confused/distracted. I should have mentioned this will be for his rifle.

Yeah it wouldn’t be the 1st choice for my kids either. I would probably stick with a standard cross hair or gross hair with a dot in the center.

    I put a Simmons 4x my daughter’s .22. Pretty decent little scope.

I use a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II on my Savage Mk2. Very clear, holds zero, and fairly affordable (you should be able to get it for less than $100). It does have a BDC, but it's less busy than the PA scope above.

(wait, sorry, didn't see the fixed magnification requirement).

Anybody got thoughts about this one?

I was thinking more like 6x, but I'm an iron sights shooter and I'm not sure if 4x is going to be sufficient for my kid at 100 yards.

My honest opinion is: why put a 200 dollar scope on a 250 dollar rifle? My first thought on 4 X 28 is that it is kind of a small objective, but being a Leupold I am sure it would be visually as good as 4 X 32 by most anyone else.

Almost all of my scoped 22s have a mid grade scope from an old hunting rifle which I either reused or bought for $50 or less. Mostly 4 x 32 for what it is worth, but I don't shoot 22s over 50 yards except in rare circumstances and usually less. Most recently I have used a Japan made Tasco and was quite happy with the results.

Of course your use of the gun will determine what is best for you. The important thing is to have fun, and enjoy!

I recently bought a Leopold Rimfire scope for my 10/22 LVT. https://www.leupold.com/scopes/rifle...rimfire-3-9x40.

It's slightly different than the model you referenced, at a similar price. An excellent scope. I got it after looking at a number of reviews on Rimfire Central website, which has a lot of dedicated 10/22 owners.

By the way: .22 rimfire is cheap again. For the first time in ten years, I'm buying again. Bulk online when on sale with free shipping.

Weaver is reportedly getting out of the scope business and a lot of excellent scopes are on sale. This classic is a great value at $100.

I bought one a few months ago at the regular price for my boyhoood Marlin 80 (which still shoots lasers) and it is a fine scope.
