Add 2 more to the list of attendees. This will be our first time attending one of the group shoots. I've read thru the thread, besides firearms, cold drinks & food. What else should we bring?

    Nice!

Maybe some targets or things to shoot at. 2 litres and milk jugs filled with water, steel plates, bowling pins, clay birds, steel barrels, paper targets, all have been slain here before. Just make sure it's easy to clean up afterwards so glass is probably a no go.

Sunscreen, Some sort of canopy is a good idea, a folding table, chairs, targets and target stands. Also somewhat advisable to travel fairly light when it comes to guns, you'll be thankful for less stuff to load/unload at the end of the day.

OK, I need to start planning what guns and ammo I need to pack up.

Here's the menu. (click) If there's anything anyone would like to see/shoot, speak up.
I don't lug this crap across the state to prop it against a table - if you want to shoot something, just say so!!!

    I will definitely bring:
    7.62x39 AR15
7.62x51 Spanish FR-8 milsurp bolt action
    9mm Marlin Camp 9 carbine

My GOLD pop up canopy from Walmart was delivered today. True 1-Day delivery - for free. Impressive.

PAFOA Logo chamber flags are slated for arrival tomorrow. (if anyone wants any - $1 ea or six for $5)

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a pop up canopy, might try to pick up a folding table tomorrow. Never thought about filling soda & milk bottles with water. I have a few here waiting for recycle day.

I recall seeing some people lay a blanket/tarp down to catch empty brass.
It's a roughly mowed field, so it's not so easy to find empties.
A blanket can be used to lay your guns on too if you don't have a table.

Aside from the canopies for shade, wide brimmed hats are a good idea in full sun.
Something to cover the neck may be wise for those not "seasoned" to the sun. A simple bandana placed on your head and held on by a hat/cap works if you don't have a fancy hat with neck cover attached.

A cooling towel/wet rag that can be refreshed with cold water feels good on the neck.

Don't forget to drink - even if just sitting around. Drink. Drink. Drink.

Bug spray if you're annoyed by bugs.

A change of clothes/shirt for the ride home may not be a bad idea. Especially if someone is nice enough to give you a ride in their vehicle.
(I'll bring a beach towel to cover my seat )
