I'm going to look into these, thanks.

Have one in .357mag and carry .38spl+p Winchester Silvertip just because I got a great deal on a case. Much more manageable recoil. I put a Bantam boot grip and fiber optic front sight on mine right away. I love that little gun.

A 125 grain bullet USUALLY has less felt recoil than a heavier bullet. If it were me, a 125 grain load designed for short barrels is what I would use. I always carried 38 special + p in my snub nose 357.
Hope this helps you and good luck.

We have a .38 Spec LCR. Wife did fine with +P. I put a Crimson Trace laser grip on it, and now it hurts to practice with wadcutters. Stick with the non-lasered grips.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I went shooting yesterday, I went with the 125gr Golden Sabers. I shot 38 special 38 special +P and 357. Have to say I like this gun more than I thought I would.
The first 5 158 grain target rounds were an eye opener. The more I shot the more the recoil normalized. Thanks for the suggestions you guys offered.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Love the trigger on the lcr line. Been waffling on weather I want the lcrx or the 3 inch sp101 in 327 federal magnum.

As stated previously, Speer 135gr +P .38 Special gold dots are probably the best short barrel revolver load if you can find them.

I can't guarantee they won't make your hand numb after a few shots, but I don't think you will find better expansion / penetration.

In the lucky gunner experiment linked above, 5 loads utilizing a Barnes solid copper hollow point bullet outperformed the Speer short barrel load in both expansion and penetration, from a 2" barrel.

I'm sure the barnes loading is great but I would take any clear ballistic gel results with a grain of salt.
