Default Where to get finger prints in Philadelphia/How to notify CLEO

I've been thinking about getting a Form 1 done to SBR an AR for a while and I'm finally going to do it. Anyone in Philadelphia know where to go to get the fingerprint cards done? Should I just take them them to the Sherrif's Office? What's the proper method to notify the CLEO?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Philadelphia police will not do fingerprinting.

There's a place in Bensalem near the Home Depot off of 13 that does fingerprints. There's also a place in Philly. A lunch truck looking place near the art museum. Google "fingerprints Philadelphia" for names and proper places. Be prepared to pay $50 or more, or do it yourself with a cheap inkless fingerprint kit from Amazon. That's what I plan on doing from now on. (I have 2 E-form Form 1s pending)

As far as notifying the CLEO (who is Police Commissioner Richard Ross, Jr), it's on the back page of ATF Copy 2 on the Form 1 itself. The address is One Franklin Square Room 314, Phila. PA 19106.

    I hope this helps.

Do your own, email the ATF and ask them to send you the cards.

What "satisfaction" do you believe is needed?

These days, "sign offs" are not required, only "notice" of what's happening. His opinion on the matter is of no concern.

You no longer need the CLEO's permission, you simply mail them a copy of the forms. Neither PPD for the Sheriff's Office will do fingerprints. I think some suburban departments do it for their residents.

You can do the prints yourself and the ATF will send you the cards if you request them. Some gun shops that sell SBRs and Suppressors also assist with the prints, photos, etc. The Bunker Gun Shop in Warminster does everything for $75.

If you go to the ATF website, you can order the fingerprint cards for free. They are mailed to you in a few days.

If you are going to do them yourself ensure that you do them right. The individual fingers get rolled for each hand and for the bottom four fingers and thumb blocks it's just straight down. Rule of thumb, (no pun intended) but if you cannot see the distinct print of your prints ( ridges) it's probably going to get rejected.
