Default Is this the right way to use a rifle?

I was cleaning my guns the other day and came to a realization. The most EXPEN$IVE gun in my collection (they are all shooters) is a SAKO Finnlight in 6.5x55.......

.......And, it is the gun I use the LEAST! Maybe I should pick up a little lever action for 3 or 4 hundred bucks for deer and sell or trade the SAKO in favor of a nice quality AR which I would shoot spring, fall, and summer?

I shoot my pistol and .22 AR quite often while the SAKO waits for fall sighting-in and deer season. So the cheaper guns spend time with me and get the work out while the pricy gun sits.

I don't know. What do you think? Isn't that kind of a misuse of resources?

My most expensive gun is a big paperweight that collects dust because I haven't shot it in 7yrs.

I've got some paperweights in the safe, but I still keep them around for the fact that I simply just like them.

The way I look at it, as long as you're enjoying it, it's worth keeping. If you feel like it's not worth having around then sell it and get something that suits your needs/wants better.

So many guns, so little room. Or is it time?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I have a Remington 40XB with a heavy SS barrel, 4 oz. trigger and a 24X Unertl scope that sits in my safe while I'm out knocking off carpenter bees with a Red Ryder BB gun.....go figure.

A tool is not judged by the amount you use it. You should judge a tool on its performance when you use it. The right tool makes the job so much better. Not every job needs doing every day. Tools don’t eat anything.

The red rider is the safer, less destructive option.

I have firearms that haven't been fired since the 70's. My policy is never sell a gun.
