    Original Lockbar sights are always a plus. What is the barrel date and the drawing numbers on the oprod and bolt? Does it have a cartouche?

    Barrel was re-done in ‘57 throat is 1.25 muzzle is.75 Rock River Arsenal

    I haven’t stripped it yet for the oprod , I will check tomorrow I’m cleaning all of them in the garage .

    Sounds like you got a fresh rebuild. The bolt is probably 652.... which would be Korean era. Congrats. she will probably be a shooter! There are a number of collectors that like marked rebuilds over your standard mixmaster.

    Give it a good cleaning then look up where to apply grease. And I do mean grease NOT oil. And any cheap car axle grease will do. You don't need Teflon or any super slick expensive grease. And don't use anything with moly in it or you will get black stuff everywhere. For a range rifle I put a heavy coat.

    While you have it apart give it the "tilt test" (search it). With the oprod spring out the action should open and close when you tilt it back and forth. If something is binding you may have an issue.
