Default 1,660 yard match in SW PA - 50BMG and below calibers

Washington County Machine Guns & Tactical Range is hosting a 1,600 yard shoot on September 14th from 10:00am to 6:00pm+ about 45 minutes north of our range near Avella, PA.

Limited to 40 shooters at $50 per entry fee. Tickets can be purchased here or at the link below:

    https://www.eventbrite.com/e/wcmg-lo...ts-59349146896

    Steel Gong Targets and Distances:
This is the first time we are setting up at this location, so while we did scout the location, we won’t know exactly where the targets will be set until the week before the shoot. The only thing we are positive about are the further distances of ~1,200 and ~1,600 yards.

    500 yards - 12" gongs
    700 yards - 12" gongs
    1,000 yards - 18” gongs
    1,200 yards - 18” gongs
    1,600 yards - 24" gongs

    Tickets:
Entry fee is $50 with the best shooter receiving a 5-MG shooting package, a trophy, WCMG t-shirt, plus SWAG from several National sponsors. Event is limited to 40 shooters. Only shooters and their spotter are allowed at the event. If you do not have a ticket, or are not the spotter of a ticket holder, you will not be allowed on the range for any reason. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

    Entry Road:
We cannot stress this enough: this range is out in the boonies on a rough gravel road and ONLY high-clearance 4x4 vehicles will be allowed past the gate. We will be shuttling people into the shoot that arrive in cars, however those shooters should arrive before 9:00 am. The address to the location will be given to you once you purchase a ticket since the general public will NOT allowed pass the gate. If you are not comfortable leaving your car at the gate, do NOT bring a car.

    Food and Drinks:
We will be breaking at ~2:00 pm for lunch and will be offering grilled hotdogs and hamburgers for a nominal fee. Please feel free to bring your own food and snacks. Drinks will be available for purchase for $1.

    Practice Area:
There will be a practice area ~250 yards with 8” and 10” gongs. Practice area will be available from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

    Range:
Because of the layout of the range, we will be shooting over the entry road the entire day, therefor the gate will be LOCKED promptly at 10:00 am. If you arrive at 10:02 am and the gate is locked, turn around and go home, you just forfeited your entry fee. The gate will be unlocked during lunch if anyone wants to call it a day and go home, and then locked again once lunch is over. DO NOT BE LATE. Arrive before 10:00am !!!!

    Scoring:
    1 point per hit.

    Rounds required:
Minimal 25 rounds, however top shooters may shoot up to 50 rounds to break a tie. Every shooter will shoot 5 rounds at each distance.

    Weather:
Light rain or shine since a light rain just makes it more interesting. In case of heavy rain or unsafe lightning storms, event will be held on Sunday, September 15th.

    Schedule:
1: Gate opens at 8:00 am and will be locked at 10:00 am. Late arrivals will be denied entrance due to layout of the range shooting over the road. DO NOT BE LATE.
2: All shooters must be signed in by 10:00 am.
3: 8:00 am to 10 am will be used for practice.
4: Required safety briefing at 10:15am.
5: First 3 shooters on the line promptly at 10:25am with first shots down range at 10:30am.

    Shooting Sequence:
Two shooters will be on the line with shooter three “On Deck” and ready to replace shooter that just shot. 1st shooter at each distance will have 3 minutes to take 5 shots. Every other shooter at that distance will have 2 minutes to take 5 shots with a 1 minute break between shooters while next shooter takes the place of the shooter that just shot. After each shooter completes his 5 shots, their shooting position will be taken over by the “On Deck” shooter not already on the line. Shooters have the option of using a bench or prone position on ground or prone position on wooden deck. At the start of the day, there will be a random drawing for shooting sequence with 1st shooter at 500 yards becoming the last shooter at 700 yards, and then 1st shooter at 700 yards then becomes last shooter at 1,000 yards, etc.

    Tie Breaker:
If 2+ shooters are tied after 1,600 yard distance, those tied shooters will use the 18” target at 1,000 yard distance with each shooter shooting 5 rounds and repeat until winner is decided.
