With a republican majority would that even work? And that's why I did mention by the end of this year so none of that election year BS would come into play.

This just goes to show that if a "assault weapons ban' or magazine limitation law every makes it to the supreme court under its current make up, we might be in for a big surprise and disappointment when they announce their decision.
