I have a 454 Alaskan. It has some recoil, but not painful like the .480 Ruger SRH I had. That one would make my wrist hurt before the cylinder was empty. Full on 454 rounds I can shoot at least 24 before I start getting the shakes. Plus its much more carry friendly. Not pinpoint accurate but i can hit a paper plate at 50 yards. 3" at 25 yards with ammo that has 1800 ft lbs of energy.

I've been bit as well. Been looking around for a 7.5" SRH .454 for a while now.

I got the chance to fondle one today. They feel very good in the hand, very stout. Nothing about the grip seemed like it would be a problem, but I am sure they will thump you a bit. Even with the $800 price tag I may be on board.
