    I've seen a lot of Model 28's and 27's over the years. The model 28's are usually well worn from riding around in a holster. Thee 28's were made to be working guns whereas the Model 27 is more of a show gun. That is probably the nicest model 28 I've seen in many years. Congratulations on the great find. One of these years I'll find another 4" Model 29. Years ago I had a 4" 629 but I sold sold it. Silly me.

    Steel is real and wheel guns are real steel. Fine example of a vintage S&W.

    Thanx! But unfortunately , someone did attempt to 'relieve'' them for some unknown reason.
