Seriously... I told my kids (youngest graduated a couple years ago) that whenever they thought something like that was going down.. was to get out. I let them know they wouldn't get in trouble with me but do whatever they had to do to get out of that building, find someplace safe to hide and call me. The point being don't be a sitting duck, head towards the opposite direction of the shooter.

I think actively engaging the shooter by 'yelling, running around, and throwing things at the shooter' is ridiculous

I do believe throwing things at 2500 ft./s is the answer

Yes the schools could hire a couple trained professionals who are already on site. No teachers carrying evil guns and an added level of real protection.

CCW teachers that want to carry is the only answer but this anti gun shit is making the world less safe.

I love when they say "I don't want people with guns around my kids.."
CCW holders carry around kids at restraints, playgrounds, the beach, the park, the movies and everywhere else. What's the difference if they carry at work?
The thing these anti gun people don't know is that people are carrying concealed everywhere. They act like this is something that never happens or that it's rare.

I have this conversation with almost everyone I meet and they have no idea the people carry guns everyday and they are everywhere and it's been like that forever.
They think or thought it's illegal to have a gun on you. It's like a new thing for them and they don't believe me...

Sometimes they insist I'm wrong until I have to give up.
It's crazy that people are that blind that they go through their entire lives in a fantasy world.
Want to freak them out? Just mention you don't need a permit to open carry...

Our society protects our money with guns, our politicians with guns, our celebrities with guns, but somehow its bad to protect our children with guns.
    It's insanity.

If you don't want to arm the teachers.
Then select 2 or 3 staff members from every school, like the principle, vice principle, and maintenance supervisor, and give them professional firearm training.
Background check, license, training, certification, and arm them.
Just like a HR218 LEOSA program.

    That's how Israel does it.
They got tired of Islamists executing their children in their schools.
They passed a law that every school MUST have designated, trained and armed staff on site at all times.
Schools are not allowed to operate without a designated armed staff member present.
Guess what, their Islamist school attacks dropped to zero.

It is disgusting in the extreme that the Liberal Democrat Party is willing to allow our children to be slaughtered for political gain.
Our rank and file police need to stand up and demand that our schools be properly protected by designated, trained and armed staff members.
It's time to stop the insanity and protect our children.

It’s more then anti gun it’s anti common sense and a failure to accept the reality of it. Response time is everything and having a trained 1st responder or two on site will save lives or be a deterrent for one to even take place.

If I were in a group discussion and someone said that, I would loudly reply, "Then don't call the police when a shooting is going on. The police are going to bring guns!" "And, as an added bonus, the police will be bringing their guns too late!"
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I would rather have a bunch of CCW teachers in random places, that are a pretty good shot at the range then nothing at all...
Most CCW holders have very little training but can put seventeen rounds into a man size target at 20 feet.

I have a dream. I dream that one day, school zones will be posted

WARNING. THIS SCHOOL IS PROTECTED BY ARMED PERSONNEL.
