Default GunBroker... is there a better alternative?

Hi Guys - Over the past year or so I've become increasingly aggravated with GunBroker and the changes they have made. For starters... I don't care for the current web layout, the mobile app sucks, the support is horrible (no response or it takes weeks to get a answer), there is a 2% fee for a reserve price, listings use to remain active until sold or canceled - now its 90 days max! I think you get the picture. Besides our classified section, is there a better alternative to reach the masses? Thanks

If it doesn’t sell in 3 months the price is too high, your pictures suck or it’s an unpopular gun.

Classified ads in news papers. I check reading eagle and merchandiser.

You could always consider another line of business. See the Amish guy on this forum he may have franchises available for his products.

    There's always "Armslist"

*ETA: To the best of my knowledge- Gunbroker is about as good as it gets. If it doesn't work for you, I guess you are SOL

Armslist is great. Just buy and sell local, no shipping no scams. Cash in hands.

Depends what it is honestly. I'd much rather sell on free forums to a known member but if it's something that's unique or I'm just not sure how high it will go, then I'll use GB. Typically if the value is known and it's not a super common item I'll list it on GunBoards, CMP, the Colt Forum, etc. If it's a cheap & common gun not worth shipping, I'll use Armslist or PAFOA.

You can also try Guns International which has a per-item fee but you need to know what it's worth.

I used Auction Arms a lot before Gunbroker came along, and raised prices on basically everything. There's Guns America too.

I haven't looked at either one in a long while.

I have been using GB for years, as a buyer. Never sold anything yet. If you learn to work within their guidelines, you can do very well selling on the site. I think they are the best at what they do...hands down.

As a seller, you need to know the value of the guns you are selling. Most listing on GB are overpriced. Those people or businesses that sell well, know the sweet spot in pricing. There is always a chance one of your items will not command the price you want...its a risk you take. Personally, I would not sell a Glock 17 on GB unless the price started low and you have multiple bidders on the item. Nothing special about them anymore. Those looking to buy are looking at cost only. I can't tell you how many items I have purchased a a very low price because the seller did not do his homework. Sell your not so special goods on local forums...the high priced, special items on GB...justmyopinion...

I've sold (and bought) over a dozen guns on what used to be called Penns Woods. Seems to favor middle PA, but it's worth a shot, especially if you offer to ship. No charge for posting or even a percentage fee.
