If everyone has a rifle, then a registry is worthless.

You don't admit to previously owning one, you just take the credit, buy a new one, and say "yep, I'm in compliance!"

That database wouldn't id gun owners, just people that would comply with the law. Don't be the first guy, don't seem too eager.

I had read or heard somewhere that the whole reason that this bill was even written was to show how stupid gun control is. I don't agree with the government forcing us to buy anything normally, but I could support a bill like this if it helps educate people on our rights.

The law had a provision that if some one did not what a handgun in the house they had to go to the police dept and state the reason in writing. As far as I know the law is still in effect.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

The unorganized militia will never be called up, but if you are you're supposed to bring your rifle in an acceptable military caliber and your first 25 rounds of ammunition.

This is all obviously a stunt/showing how the precedent set by ACA can be expanded - but it at least has some basis in existing law/precedent.
I think you are talking about this . . .

I can't find where it is still on the books, according to wikipedia it was "superceeded" by the . . .

It is NOT a tax - that's a political label. Anyway - the individual mandate was removed so it is moot.
