    I'm not aware of any privately owned shops that have a bad reputation. I won't patronize Dick's Sporting Goods or Gander Outdoors simply because of corporate politics, but that's a whole other issue.

    It depends what you are interested in. Do you want to be a tactical ninja or a target murdering competition guy? I'm more into competitions. Either way the Brian Enos site has some great information by some of the top shooters in the country.
