Lived in NC 15 years. The rest of the state is generally conservative, thought there are pockets...

Asheville is HIGHLY liberal. Cary, just outside Raleigh is known as the Consolidated Area for Relocated Yankees - most from NY, NJ, and Eastern PA. They brought liberal to the South, though some have converted once they got a tasted of freedom.

I stayed for a couple weeks just southeast of the Raleigh airport. I don't recall seeing any no gun signs. IIRC, N.C. is must inform LE but they allow guns in school parking lots in locked container of a vehicle and unloaded. Not sure of any case law though. The Federal GFZA (Gun Free Zone Act) requires a permit from the home state, however.

When I went to Daytona, FL, I was paranoid about incidental or accidental exposure of a concealed carried handgun (uplifted shirt from reaching) that I pocket carried a small pistol. I actually had an occasion where I placed a hand in my pocket and gripped the gun flicking off the safety. So I was glad I was armed. Luckily, the suspect did not continue further after sizing up the situation.

    Just watched that video. WOW

You'd better fact check that. :-)
