You can still find decent used deals but yeah prices have gone up. The best deal is the PSA AK for $550.00 to $600.00.

They traded price places with the AR.

I paid $350 for my WASR 10 at Dunham's shortly before Obama was elected.
I remember watching the prices CLIMB as the election grew nearer. I could have gotten it for $300 not long before that.

I know they were well under $300 at one point because I remember choosing to buy a Yugo SKS for $120 new - I chose it because I didn't have the $50 or so extra that the AK was on sale for!
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I paid around$375 for mine. Hard to believe I could probably scrape together an AR for that now.

My 1st two WASR rifles were $285 each from impact guns. They were low cap since I lived in NJ and one was in a Dragov type stock which I liked a lot.

Billboarded Standard Hex receiver 91/30 rifles are close two $400 bucks now shipped. If you don’t have a C&R it will be $400.00 plus with the transfer.

In 2014 I purchased a half dozen round and hex receivers hand picked myself for $99.00 each because they were shipped with an unwrapped bayonet and may have had a few extra stock scratches. Mine didn’t because I hand picked them.

Them Surplus days are long gone now and won’t be back anytime soon. It’s all about the AR and polymer wonder 9’s now.

I sold my NJ legal ones before I moved five years ago. I ended up with a few different variants over the last 5 years but no WASR and I modded it. This past November I finally picked up an excellent condition older 10/63 built on an all matching military parts kit from 1983.

WASR, 11 mags, and 1150 rounds of x39 for $675.00 in Cabela’s parking lot. Put it back in Surplus furniture and it’s my favorite AK.

Get a WASR underfolder and swap out the furniture for surplus so you can get the "third-world militia" aesthetic. The WBP rifles from Atlantic are also nice, milled parts where they're supposed to be milled and a chrome lined barrel. Mak-90s are great, but need some parts to convert it to a proper looking AK.

Well, that was 10 years ago.
