Flying with multiple handguns. Will it flag anything?
Hey guys
So I'm moving across the country for a job and will be staying there for a few years. driving across the country isn't an option right now.
Has anyone flown with multiple handguns before and not have any issues? I have about a dozen or so I'd like to fly with me in my Pelican case.
Parents believe I'll get flagged and questioned by tsa/police for having so many handguns. But following all the rules of TSA and speaking with local pd at the destination, shouldn't be an issue falling under "new resident" rules.
Thanks

The TSA never look in your socks so putting them in your socks is always an option.

Everything legal in the new state? Can you get new drivers license and ffl to ffl them? Me? I’d drive no matter what the obstacle is to it.

I can't answer your question specifically except to say I have looked into flying with A gun and didn't see any limits on the quantity of guns you can check.
That said, 12 guns worth taking with you, I would estimate a value of $5000 +/-? No way would I trust $5000 worth of anything with the airlines or the TSA, especially since firearms seem to be a popular target for thievery. 12 handguns are bound to get some attention, not good attention, from baggage handlers and other airline personnel, just something to consider.

I agree with what has been said, that while technically it is probably not an issue, it is not a great idea to fly with 12 guns in a single case, especially a soft case.
If it was me, I would take a few with me on the flight, ship a few via FFL, and leave a few with my parents. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Do you have an address where you will be living at the new job? If so, ship them to yourself the day before you leave. You'll be there before they get there so you'll be able to sign for them. You didn't say where you were moving to so there could be other options as well.
