But we've had some customers come to us saying there's a man with a gun. Would you mind putting your shirt over it?" I smiled, and said no problem. They thanked me. I did not want a defiant trespass, and I was with the wife and daughter, so I had to consider any attention drawn to them. Had I been on my own, I might have asked politely if it was their policy to oblige bigoted customers who want to exert their control over patrons who are doing nothing wrong.

I see the two female managers go back to the older fellow wearing black glasses and sporting a beard. I saw this guy before in the isle, I was very polite and stepped out of his way so he could pass. He continues talking with the two female managers for about a minute straight. I smile at him politely and he pretends not to see me.

I'm thinking he was trying to argue with the managers, perhaps telling them what to do about me (maybe kick me out?), while obviously the managers did not see fit to go that far. Maybe he was an out of stater. Maybe he is a Dem thinking that OC is the equivalent of a MAGA hat.

I'm starting to become more and more disenchanted with the totalitarian mindset of this man who wants to control another person so much that he is willing to get two young females to exert *his* control over me, because he is too cowardly to talk to me in person.

Shoulda walked over to them with a box of tissues and said, "Is this him" Here ya go ya whiney little milquetoast , put them on my bill!"

The managers took the appropriate avenue. They are there to make sure all are satisfied customers, whether the customers like guns or not. What they did was a fare approach to make sure both parties are happy, although I doubt the snitches were happy that the managers only asked you to coverup.

They did their job, you were equally polite. Sometimes civility is uncommon, even on "our" side.

That's how I see it now. The man continued talking with the managers after I covered up; presumably telling them how indignant (and perhaps scared) he is that I wasn't escorted out in cuffs.

I'm always as polite as the situation allows when Ocing. I represent all gun owners in America when I OC; and I act accordingly.

Hey, you never asked for permission to represent me. If you were representing me you'd have yelled "Constitution motherfucker" and walked away.

There was a time when prissy white customers would tell managers that they were offended by the presence of Negroes, even when those Negroes were doing nothing illegal or wrong. And managers would politely ask the Negroes to leave, or sit out of sight.

I typically add, 'whether we like it or not'. In the uneducated eyes of the public, an OCer represents all gun owners. Whether we like it or not, fair or unfair, it's the truth to all the sheep.

That's exactly the analogy raised in the car by my wife after the fact. (And, being a non-white myself, I could have made it an issue about this old white man picking out the minority who is doing nothing wrong, lawfully armed to protect self and those under the mantel of my protection. But I'm not like the left...I don't cry racism when none probably exists, in order to get special treatment).

I respect that, but the stakes are too high to leave any tools in the toolbox. The "r-word" works on the sorts of people who complain about lawful guns, and the accusation might have made him a little gun-shy the next time he was tempted to whine about the law-abiding.

Raising the spectre of racism where none exists seems appropriate, where someone is crying about a dangerous gunman where none exists.

I understand that argument, and it can be effective. In different contexts, I have utilized it, but in a more sarcastic manner so as to demonstrate how fatuous the entire intersectional politics of the left are. Maybe if the situation were different (my wife and young kid were not with me), I might have tried it. But I would still feel like shit stooping to the level of utter pigs.

Being polite to the managers is the right thing to do. Good job as usual. The managers now see you as a good guy and the whiny ass democrat as a whiny ass democrat that'll never be satisfied with anything or anyone. If either of them are fence sitter in their politics you have just won them over by being reasonable and polite as compared to the old sour puss who has to have his way.
