$8 at 3% over 20 years is about $14. That's the normal price for a brick of .22.

Back when I was a young-in , a 500rd 'brick' of Federal , Remington or Winchester .22LR with plated bullets was about $10-12. The cheaper promo-grade ammo (Federal Lightning , Remington Mohawk , Winchester Wildcat) with non-plated bullets was $7-8 per.

At the Sellersville show , I saw a 525rd box of Remington .22LR for $20.

One other guy wanted $8 for a partial (50rd) box of Winchester .22LRHP!

What I would like to find is .303 and .308 at a reasonable price locally...they haven't gone down...I figured after deer season ended, they'd drop.

What do you consider reasonable on .308?

Well...I guess 7.62 NATO but...maybe both...is there enough difference to worry about? And that brings me to another thing...my 91 is stamped .308 on the side of it...

People used to point out bulk ammo pricing to me, but I was always saying that RETAIL/per box would never see $10 for 50 rds of 9mm.
It took a while, but it's out there now for that price - and less.
I'm glad you were wrong too. I figured it would hit $10 again but now dropping below $8 a box in some cases, I don't think it's going to get any cheaper.

How is the Wal Mart pricing right now? I have not looked for a long time.

My plan is to continue to hoover it up at low prices when I can afford to. I'll continue to reload 9mm as I have thousands of 115g and 124g bullets to use up. I found I like shooting 147g bullets in 9mm so from here on out I think I will start reloading 147g bullets instead.

Some rifles yes , some rifles no. Don't recall what was on my HK-91. I ran mostly surplus , Rem-UMC/.Win-USA and Fed-AmEagle thru it.
My DPMS LR-308 says most commercial ammo is good to go.

But most M14 folks know to stick with 7.62 NATO M59/M80 in M14-type rifles.

    7.62 NATO M80 limits , 50,000psi

    .308 Winchester , 55,000psi
