I only wish I could return all the ammo I purchased at rape rates.

Add me to the stable crowd.
I'm also a fan of cost averaging.
Unless it's outrageous, buy something every month or so.
Of course, always buy if the price is Right.

My solution is to scrounge cheap lead and make my own.

Good ammo, never had an issue with it.

I only wish I had the cash to blow right now on more ammo.
getting CCI Blazer Brass 124gr or 115gr for ~$150/case (or less!) after rebates is a pretty damn sweet deal.

I remember when Emptymag said 9mm brass would never again be less than $15.00 a box.

I saw AIM surplus running a sale, $6.79 a box for Prvi Partisan recently. Rural King I saw had Federal 9mm for like $7.49 a box recently. Plenty of other sales for $7.99.

I think there are several factors in play. One of which is an exhaustion of demand post 2013. I think the post Sandy Hook panic triggered a few years of hoarding. The sales volume inspired an increase in supply. For a lot of folks they've probably got a ton of ammo in their closet, more than they can realistically shoot any time soon.

Second, another factor a lot of people don't realize is that metals prices fell in 2016 and that affected the cost of producing the ammo in our favor.

Prices will remain flat for a while until metal prices go up or demand jumps.
