i never expected at a gun club it would happen
So about a week and a half ago (been busy with family visiting and work sorry for the delay on this one) my mom comes into town to visit for my baby girls 2nd b day. I of course decide I'll take her out to the gun club since my better half was working at the club and hadn't seen her yet plus there is a darn good cook out there. i was informed about 30 minutes after i entered that i had to cover my sidearm. I amazingly kept my cool, and with a disgruntled look covered (didn't want to make a scene in front of mom). About a week prior my better half was pulled aside by the same uneducated person who told me to cover, and told her that she didn't want me to openly carry my sidearm. upon her being told this she informed one of the bored members who politely said F**k said person he is legal and within his rights. After i was personally told to cover he walked in a few minutes later. My better half told him she had made cover to which he responded with let it go I'll handle it later.
My fiancee and i talked about the happenings the day after on Sunday. The conclusions we made were as follows.
1. she was getting fed up with the BS and extra stress that was being put on her
2. she was tired of bending over backwards and not getting anything in return (she requested to be off Sunday for our daughters b day party and got told no)
3. she was tired of the job interfering with school work
4. Telling me to cover was the last straw
Her boss got a call at around 11 at night (infringe on my rights and you get the jarhead in me to come out). First i was on the phone with her i informed her i would not be returning to the club and neither would betsy. I told her my reasoning to which she did appoligize and said she was in the wrong in telling me to cover. I told her sorry it was to late she should have educated herself before she approached me. Betsy then proceded to tell her the reasons she had, and told her that she was done period.
We proceeded the next eveaning to take out her keys and collect her last paycheck as well as turned in both of our membership cards. We both walked out and haven't looked back since. We stuck by our guns on the premises of if we can't openly exercise our rights in a gun club then it is not the club for us.
Bastard ChildOur Country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any AMERICA because some foreign soldier will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race! Chesty Puller

Good. That's not a gun club I'd want to belong to.
Sorry it had to come to that, but that's pretty ridiculous.
What the fuck are you supposed to do at a gun club?

If a club doesn't respect my rights, I don't belong there.

There is another option.
Get involved in club politics (e.g. go to meetings) and get those stupid rules and regulations changed.

Sounded to me that it was not club policy to cover up but just one ignorant person. I could see your wife quiting her position on other grounds but you should have stayed at the club and improved it for the benefit of others. If that is not you, then what you did is fine.
