Re: Suppressor for a 5.56 M4
I have a sandman s and use it on my 5.56 AR and M1A. If you have never shot a suppressed 5.56 AR, I would suggest asking around and trying one out. I do like the dead air mounting system and I have not had any trouble with it. That being said, I don't have experience with other manufacturer's QD systems. I've always felt most suppressors sound pretty similar and you will not get a 5.56 AR "hollywood" quiet. In my opinion, buying criteria should be the manufacturer's customer service, mounting options, and lastly caliber versatility. Based on my experience though, a suppressor tends to "live" on a host and does not get swapped around so caliber versatility for me isn't a huge selling point in hindsight.

have you ever heard a 223 with a can it is as loud as a 22 lr because the 223 is super sonic round a 300 black o is not . the 30 cal can will not sound much different on the 223 as a 223 can will .

Re: Suppressor for a 5.56 M4
Don't bother with a 223 can. Get a 30 cal. Best mounting system in IMO is the dead air sandman S or L. I have the L and people say they are amazed at how quiet it is on my 5.56 rifle. If you worry more about weight then sound get 2 cans, but my Dead Air can is quieter then my friends 223 can.
On second thought... If you are going to hang it off a 16" barreled M4, go as light as you can. I have SBRs... Hanging a can way out on the end of a 16" rifle makes a huge difference in weight / balance.Last edited by :-); March 4th, 2019 at 01:53 PM.

I’ve borrowed it to either the sandman s from dead air or the razor from Rugged. The mounting is good with either and they’re both 30 cal. Other than my 22-5.7 can this will be my only other.
