Just a reminder to the new turkey hunters that Sat. April 20 is Youth turkey hunting day here in PA. Get yourselves out now to scout, not on the 20th while the youngun's are hunting gobblers. You can always go out and check your hotspots after the 20th to make sure your AO is still well populated.

As I returned from getting blood drawn this morning at 7 am, I had two nice sized jakes cross the road in front of me. I stopped and looked up the lane to my left to see 5 other turkeys milling around in the grass alongside a gravel lane, about 25 yards away. No big deal for many of you but, I live in the southernmost reaches of WMU 5C about 1 mile from the MD stateline. This flock was less than 1/2 mile from my home, which is only the third time I've seen a flock in my area, all wihin the last year and a half or so.
