When they say "lead shot only" they mean do not use steel shot including tungsten. Copper plated shot is lead shot with a copper plating on the shot. The rem choke X Full turkey and Super Full turkey is OK to use with copper plated shot. With shotguns when it says "lead only" it means no steel shot and that includes tungsten. Bismuth is also OK to use. The ratings are used like that because of the softness of the shot and the properties of it being compressed when funneled through the choke. If you use shot that is very hard like steel or tungsten it does not compress well like lead, copper or nickel plated lead or bismuth. The effects of steel or tungsten in chokes that are too constricted can be deformed chokes, stuck chokes and bulged barrels. This whole non toxic shot thing has had everyone confused since it's inception. Copper plated lead shot is still considered toxic shot since it is lead shot. Are we confused yet?

Look into Winchester Long Beard XR ammo and Carlson long beard XR choke tube designed for it. Extremely effective, cost effective, and the chokes can be found on Ebay for around $30-40.

I just purchased some Long beard XR 3" #5. At $2 a shot it ain't cheap! I'm hoping it patterns as well as they advertise. Planning on using a full choke since that's what I have.
