    Default Hunters fund Conservation

There are 480 species of wildlife in PA, hunters hunt 62 of them. But, hunters provide 100% of the funding to conserve all wildlife and also the wildlife habitat on the 1.5 million acres of State Game Lands, which are missioned for wildlife habitat and hunting.

Currently in PA, we are replacing just 65 or so of every 100 hunters who stop hunting, mainly driven by the aging of our baby boomer generation. The millennial generation is large enough to replace the baby boomers, but when surveyed, they report TIME is the biggest barrier they face in being able to participate.

The driving force behind this movement are conservationists who realize the North American Model of Wildlife Management, where hunters purchasing hunting licenses provide this funding, is at serious risk.

How many who don't want hunting on Sunday due to the perceived danger (not real danger) they associate with sharing the woods with hunters do the following:
    1) recreate on days other than Sundays?
    2) recreate on private land?
    3) recreate on State Game Lands?
    4) contribute in any way to wildlife conservation in PA?

Can you imagine anyone pushing for a law that would make it illegal to walk your dog, ride your horse, ride your ATV or any other non-hunting activity on ANY Saturday in Pennsylvania, even on your own private land?

Who would support an attack on personal liberty and personal property rights like that?

But yet, PA hunters have faced that exact discrimination since the adoption of Blue Laws in PA. It is time we all support one another, and believe in "Liberty for All".

If we are going to make laws and keep laws based on perceived danger, than let's decide which activity we will allow on our roads on weekends: will we drive vehicles or ride bikes, because there sure are an awful lot of accidents - verified danger - involved in that shared activity!

If danger means verified injuries, then we should not be permitting anyone to ride horses, or even hike any day, because those recreational activities are some of the most dangerous outdoor activities we can do.

Come on people - hunting is inherently safe, statistics prove it.

We are allowed to shoot firearms any day of the week, just like we can do every other recreational activity 7 days of the week. It's time hunters liberty is protected and offered equally in PA. 47 other states are now hunting on Sundays - with no problem.

    We can do this!

I agree...and hoping the FUDDS will be replaced by people who aren't set in their traditional way. The hunting laws in PA suck compared to crap states like NY.

Semi auto and Sunday hunting is a no brainer.
