It's nice to see the mothership bring back the Combat Magnum.

Here's my ca 1970 19-3. Some of the difference between my vintage and the new is a pinned barrel, recessed cylinder, case hardened(Colored) trigger and hammer and high polish blue.

    Regards,

    Kobsw

The new one looks like crap compared to yours... The bluing and grips are pristine.

I haven't see one in person but the finish doesn't look too shabby.

ArmyVet, that doesn't look bad at all.

    You looking to get one?

I do like the classic series and if I had expendable income there's no doubt I'd have some in my collection.

    Kobsw

jt.. Thanks and they've really have never been able to reproduce the blue on these older guns.

I will say I'm beginning to warm up to the classic series but for now my money is going to the real classics, at least for now.

Love my 19-3. Went on a shopping spree about 5 years ago and picked up a mod 19, 15, 37 and a 60. Still want a Dirty Harry lol.

For the most part I am not a huge revolver but out of all the ones that I have owned there are two I love and won't ever sell and one of them is the Model 19-5. The K frame is in my opinion the perfect size for a revolver and while I think 4" barrels offer the best of what the .357 has to offer in a revolver I really adore this 2.5" with factory combat grips.

I gotta polish it up and get a better picture some day, the bluing is almost as perfect at kobsw's for some reason it just shows worn looking in these pictures.

Here she is again with her bigger Ruger GP100 step sister.
