Yes, I was not aware of the limitations put on the org based on tax status, and I'm still not completely up to speed. No, though I have made small donations to certain campaigns by both when I support the agenda. I would much rather put my money into a more locally focused group that fights for our rights in our state. I feel pretty confident in the SCOTUS right now to stem the tide nationally, but we don't have that protection here.

Well, it sounds to me by your replies that you are on the right track and looks like you'll fit in here. That said, it is great that you are (or will be) putting money into the local groups that focus on gun matters here in the state. Just don't forget that no matter what we do here in PA, all is for naught if we lose at the federal level so supporting groups like the NRA, GOA, 2nd Amendment Foundation (2AF) and CCRKBA (easier to say that than Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep an Bear Arms) is also needed. Yes, the NRA is the big boy, but all of the national groups help in their own way to defeat the liberals.

Thanks for the support, and yes I'm definitely willing to put money behind forces that are doing the work that we little people can't. I know federal level laws could certainly screw us all, but I think between the senate majority and the current balance of the SC, we'll be in a holding pattern at least through the next election cycle. The bigger threat to my eyes is on the state level right now with Peduto and wolf's aggressive attacks even in the face of the state constitution.

Heck, for "just" a forum, I've met a whole bunch of members, gone to a bunch of rallies and protests, met my state legislators, addressed Pittsburgh City Council, gone to picnics and group shoots, I've shot nearly every gun imaginable and countless rounds of ammo, and eaten a truckload of bacon. This thread is TL-DR, but the title cracks me up.
