Is the 4473 a violartion of the 5th amendment?
discuss.
I mean, yes, but at the same time, I think no(or at least acceptable) unless universal background checks, and a ban on private manufacturing are implemented.

If you're a convicted felon the Supreme Court says you are exempt from registering your guns.

A 5th amendment argument was tried regarding income tax forms requiring an affirmation signature. If a signer is prosecuted for a violation such as tax evasion, the document is presented as evidence establishing the crime. Appellant argued his/her having no choice but to sign the document is in effect violating his/her rights to not aid the prosecution of self per provisions of the 5th amendment. The judges ruled that filing income tax reports is voluntary.
Betcha the ruling would be the same re a 4473 form with respect to the 5th.There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

You are correct it was a decision made in the case Haynes vs US. In a 7 - 1 decision SCOTUS agreed that requiring a convicted felon to register a firearm under NFA '34 was a violation of his 5th amendment rights.
see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haynes_v._United_States for a short dissertation.
