    Default Ruger Precision Rifle

My Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. With an Atlas bipod, Vortex Razor Gen II 4.5 - 27 x 56mm, SilencerCo Omega suppressor and a MapPul stock. The factory stock snagged too many beard hairs.

    SD should be 3.1 not 31 and that's a five shot group at 100 yards. Lapua brass, BR4 small primers, 42.6 gr H4350, Hornaday 140 ELD-M, 2800fps.

Looks just about perfect. Now all ya have to do is stretch it out a bit. Come hang with me at the 1250 yard range a few sundays. We also shoot pistols at 500 yards. Fun days.

Great shooting. My Tikka prints similar groups with a similar load. How are you seating your bullets OP?

FYI for others: it's relatively common in 6.5CM to go a few grains over the published max loads but please understand the loaders have worked up to these loads. Do NOT start with the load in OP's post. Max load on Hodgdon's site is 40.4gr. Start below and work up looking for pressure signs.

I found a nice node at 41.8gr of IMR4350 using a similar bullet as OP. YMMV.
I'm only here for the wood c-rings.

Great caliber, pretty dam good rifle. Shame about those beard hairs lol. IMO, you got exactly the right scope on it. If this is your first use of that Gen II you're gonna love it . . . if not your first, you already do lol.

Like ianb1116, I'd be interested in seating details too. ETA: and any seating tests you may have done leading up to the final.

Thanks, I shoot at Thunder Valley Precision. They have steel targets from 200yds out to a mile. The farthest target I have hit with this rifle is 1550 yards. Come shoot with me.

Awesome. Glad to hear it. Once the weather gets a bit warmer I may take you up on that.

Got to sight the 460 in this year for 500. Was at 400 last year with factory ammo. Plan to hit 500 with roll my owns. The XP100 in 7mm-08 is already gtg at 500.

I'm already looking at the new Rem 700CP for a future build once they are out of vaporware status. Then I can retire the XP100.

The only thing I have found is that the IMR stuff is more sensitive to temp swings. I stick with the H4350 pixie dust with my creed.
