NWPA Sherriff's comment on storage for Act 79
Interesting Sunday morning story concerning storage of firearms relating to ACT 79.
Didn't know they are responsible for their condition.
"With Pennsylvania’s Act 79, a new law requiring anyone under a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order to relinquish their firearms, taking effect in April, the sheriff’s departments in our region are looking at how the new law will be enforced."
“The right guy in Clarion County could practically fill that room, and I know that,” Munsee told exploreClarion.com.
Gotwald said, “I know someone personally who has 800 guns. What would I do with them? And, I can’t give them to anyone else, because under the new law, I can’t release them to a third party.”
"Under Act 79, the sheriff’s departments are not simply responsible for storing the firearms seized, they are responsible for safeguarding the condition of the guns, as well."
