Re: 7.62x39 AR15 Pistol - Add Your Input for an Affordable Build
I’ve had a few like this as well as gas blocks. While I do have receiver vice blocks, I’ve used pieces of wood and a mallet to encourage the gas blocks and barrels to seat properly. Pre-alignment is key in order to avoid using a thick wood dowel to punch it back out. Wood between the mallet and barrel will protect it. Direct heat on the front upper will help. Tight fitting of these two parts is a good thing.

Re: 7.62x39 AR15 Pistol - Add Your Input for an Affordable Build
UPDATE:
Barrel is now fully seated in the Aero Precision upper. Heated the upper and gave it a whack with some scrap lumber.
Hand guard is ordered. Aero Precision ATLAS S-One 7" blem direct from Aero Precision.
I was looking for some sort of flash can or linear comp for this 7.62x39 pistol build.
I'm going to try going without the expensive PWS CQB comp first to see how it goes.
Wanted something different than the run of the mill KAK flash can.
Found this.
It's machined from a chunk of steel, so it's got some heft to it. Not sure the actual weight.
The inside is a smooth, continuous cone shape.
It's nicely machined and finished - pics don't do it justice.

This is what I initially had in mind. Not sure something workable exists.
I'm not well versed in the various thread sizes - whether adapters exist - etc...

Here's a 1/2x28 to 14.1lh thread adapter. I'm not familiar with the above Chinese brake or its thread pattern.

This is awesome, but not long enough to reach out of the hand guard. Wrong threads too.

5/8″-24 TPI Right hand thread - I guess. That's the size muzzle device I ordered and it threads on properly.
