Default Why can't we carry in state capitol building?

I know it's been covered here, but I think in a thread.

Why can't we carry in the state capitol building?

Also, I can't find anything prohibiting in general for police stations. Are police stations off limits?

I believe that the Supreme Court is in that building. But, I have never been in that Court so cannot speak from actual knowledge. Peduto is going to be there though.

I believe that you can carry in a police station, just not in what would be considered the secure part. You should be able to walk into the lobby carrying, but if you go beyond the secured doors you'd have to be disarmed. I think it's in the law because of the potential of prisoners there and holding cells.

I thought the Supreme Court moved out of there?

At least a dozen Pennsylvania lawmakers carry guns on the House and Senate floors — though weapons are banned in the building

    What the law says
The 1995 law prohibiting guns in public buildings with courtrooms also applies to the Capitol because the structure is home to a courtroom occasionally used by the Pennsylvania appellate courts, Department of General Services spokesman Thompson said.

Yeah I was led to believe that the court stuff is BS these days, but I don't know, which is why I asked.

What's BS is that the legislators believe they're above the prohibition we all must abide by.

There are also lawmakers and staff carrying in DC with a quiet special carve out just for them.

    This is true.
Like Maryland, D.C. issues carry permits only to the elite.
