No. They never were. But even though they are following legal procedures. We still should defend our rights and speak out against this Resolution.

    OP here,

I just got home from the council meeting.
Thank you everyone who showed up and gave support !
I believe we filled more than half the room.

I will update with more details as soon as I can.
Between Allentown probably not posting the video of meeting until sometime tomorrow, me working tomorrow, then attending an LVTP meeting immediately after work.
There's a slight possibly I may have details by late tomorrow. But more likely it will be sometime on Friday.

But for now; THANK YOU !

    OP here,

Thank you everyone who showed up and gave support !

A few people specifically need to be thanked.

JustinHEMI for providing advice on how to get the word out.
Myself being new to this and having absolutely no idea on where to begin; his advice was invaluable for getting the ball rolling.

Kim Stolfer of FOAC for advice and helping to get the word out to FOAC members.
    https://foac-pac.org/

Attorney Joshua Prince for providing critique and advice on the speech to city council.
    https://www.princelaw.com/attorneys/joshua-g-prince/
    https://firearmsindustryconsultinggroup.com/
    http://www.civilrightsdefensefirm.com/

My friend, fellow LVTP member Greg who also helped with the speech. AND more importantly gave encouragement the entire way.
My friend, fellow LVTP member, Mel who not only gave encouragement the entire way. She helped with Facebook pages.

If I missed anyone; please know it is not intentional. There's a large number of everyone to thank.

We all did a great job !

Did we get the council to vote down this Resolution R18 that asks the state legislators to change preemption and allow local jurisdictions to prohibit firearms at Public Meetings and Municipal Buildings ?
No. But that was to be expected. Most council meetings are just for show and their outcomes are pre-planned.
The outcome of the vote on the Resolution went as expected it would.
The five council members who co-sponsored it; voted for it.
And the two council members who did not co-sponsor it; voted against it.

BUT we accomplished some very important things.

    • We let council know we, the 2A community, are watching. ie. We got their attention.
    • We now know exactly which council members are in favor of our rights: Roger MacLean the Council President and Ed Zucal
And which ones to vote out: Candida Affa, Daryl L. Hendricks, Julio A. Guridy, Cynthia Mota, and Courtney Robinson.
    • We let the general public know there is opposition to anti-gun laws.
    • We got attention of the media. Read the news stories and notice how they quoted us and how they noticed that we "packed" the room.
