Default States will push hard for more gun control

After a significant year for the gun control movement in 2018, momentum for stricter firearms laws in states across the country likely will accelerate this year.

In states where Democrats made big gains in the November elections, lawmakers are quickly moving legislation to raise the buying age for guns and to ban assault-style weapons. Other measures, including bills to limit gun access for domestic abusers and people who may harm themselves or others, have increasing bipartisan support.

The national conversation about guns is changing, said Robert Spitzer, a professor of political science at the State University of New York College at Cortland and the author of five books on gun control.

“There’s been a flood of new legislation,” he said. “With more state legislatures in Democratic hands, with the sense you can enforce new gun laws and it not be a stigma, there’s not only momentum but concrete evidence that those who want to see stronger gun laws are making headway.”

Huff Post, Liberal Democrat mouthpiece trying to create pressure for more anti 2A legislation.

Nothing new to see here, anti 2a states pushing for more anti 2a laws. Who would have thought.

The faster they get to where a legit push for SCOTUS ruling could happen the better.

So. What if they get to cripple our 2A rights and STILL, nothing changed in crimes and mass shooting. What penalties are to be given to those politicians?

Nothing, they just gained the ultimate power, disarming the citizens.

Yes a lot of states will. It’s like saying water is wet. That is why I do appreciate those on these boards who fight the fight everyday.

On the brighter side, you have other states like Oklahoma (who is working towards Constitutional carry) expanding gun rights.

As soon as they think they've accomplished gun control they will lower the boom of socialism as quickly as possible. Look at New York as an example, once they have gun owners in fear of confiscation they pass infanticide laws with full glee.
