Re: Slide Release or Rack It?
I find this with just about every pocket .380 sized pistol I have ever owned or handed. My TCP is the same way and my cousin has one of those Kel-tec 32 acp's that also the same. I think a big part of it has to do with the very small tolerances of the chambers, lighter recoil springs and a lot of .380 ammo being flat nosed which catches easy on the feed ramp. I have never had this issue in the Glock 42, Bersa .380, or CZ83 all larger heavier built pistols.

Re: Slide Release or Rack It?
I do off hand thumb. Mag in, hand naturally goes up to reassume grip, thumb hits slide release on the way back to the thumbs forward position. That's why I like my USPs. Slide stop is out of the way of my shooting thumb, but the serrated portion is nice and big, basically impossible to miss.
Not that I'm against the rack it method, but there is also the possibility of inducing malfunctions that way by riding the slide slightly as it goes forward. Using the magazine release gives the slide the most consistent velocity when it picks up the next round.

I use the slide release. I can see where it would cause wear, but I don't run 50 mags a week. Slam mag in, hit release while bring it down on target and fire.

Re: Slide Release or Rack It?
I do both as well... No excess wear on my guns slide releases that I can see, but I see with the Sigs how someone can hit the decocker.

Do both, depending on the pistol.

Rack it.
Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
